Assistant Senate Majority Leader:
After only six years in the Senate, Randy was chosen to serve as the Assistant Majority Leader, which is a great opportunity for this respected leader to influence legislation for District 33 and North Dakota.
Rancher:
Randy knows the struggles farmers and ranchers face.  He successfully led the effort to eliminate the sales tax on ag repair parts and used farm equipment and has consistently fought for rural North Dakota on many issues.
He is the only member of the Senate who serves on the State Board of Agriculture Research and Education.”


 


 

Technology Advocate:
As a director of one of the area's largest employers, Randy has been a leading advocate for bringing state-of-the-art telecommunications to North Dakota.  He is also vice-president ot the ND Association of Telecommunications Cooperatives.

Lignite Research Council:
Only two legislators serve on this very important board, which is promoting the construction of a new coal-fired power plant.  Since 1994 Randy has been a leading proponent of responsible development of the lignite industry.  He sponsored key legislation in 1999 to encourage the major upgrade of the refinery at Mandan.


 


 

Hunter and Second Amendment Advocate:
Randy appreciates and cherishes our outdoor heritage.  He is a life member of the National Rifle Association and was awarded their "Defender of Justice" award.  

Community Leader:
Randy is a life long member of Peace Lutheran Church and serves as vice-president of the church council. He is a veteran of the North Dakota Army National Guard, member of the Hazen Area Dollars for Scholars, a member of the Farm Bureau and a member of the ND Stockmen's Association.  The
National Federation of Independent Business recently honored him as their "Guardian of Small Business."
